Day time Actress, Night time Superstar!

Twilight the movie

December2

Phew. Finally, a breather. I’ve just wrapped shooting the telemovie Taubah. It was a tough 2 weeks. Two shoots, plus finals coming up, so assignments and presentations were due. If I wasn’t reading scripts, I was reading my text books or doing my assignments!

Anyway, I’ll put up some pictures from the shoot soon. I had a lot of fun, but I was also so stressed out from lack of sleep it was enough to make me wish I had a different life – kidding! I love my life, stress and all.

Which brings me to the movie Twilight. I thought the book was ok. I mean I read them all. But I only liked the vampire and werewolf bits. The bits where they fight and the super powers and all that jazz. The romance was neauseating and extremely tween centered and there were many times I felt like choking Bella because she is such an annoying drama queen idiot girl. And if I had an intense, controlling idiot like Edward Cullen after me I’d have to kill myself.

So, point is, main characters – not very appealing.

That won’t keep me from watching the movie though. I have an intense need to make myself suffer. First off, the casting. In the book the Cullens are only the most beautiful, ethereal people in the world. Behold the cast:

Uh… ok..

Rosalie (the blond girl) is supposed to be the hottest Cullen. In the book she is like the ice queen goddess, beautiful beyond belief! The one in my mind was a cross between a supermodel and a shimmering goddess. But the girl in the movie reminds me of Jennifer Coolidge:

I mean come on! Are we supposed to take this seriously? All the extremely hot actors and actresses out there and this is what they come out with?

These people have to live up to the image of vampires of yesteryear like Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise! Sigh..

Anyway, that said, I’ll be watching the movie with Sandra later today! :P

Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri Premiere

September21

Went for the premiere of Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri on Friday. It was held at Mines Shopping Center followed by a huge dinner with the rest of the Astro family at Palace of the Golden Horses. Check out the trailer above, maybe you’ll catch my 1 second appearance in the trailer! Ha ha!

I must say that Hans Isaac really stole the show. I was very impressed by his comedic timing. Also by the cinematography. The DOP was Santosh Thundiiayil who also shot the wildly famous Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

Things I didn’t like about the movie were the soundtrack/sound effects and the storyline. I’m wondering why at some point of reading the script someone didn’t say, “Hold up, this script sucks!” and then change everything.

TKTK is a story about how one lie can lead to another and finally end in a whole calamity of lies. Rudy (Christian Sugino) who is married to superstar celebrity Wulan (Titi Kamal), must keep the marriage a secret because of a clause in Wulan’s contract stating that she can’t get married. He then gets a job in a company (why and what company isn’t really explained) and accidently lets it slip that he is married. When his boss (Hans Isaac) wants to meet his wife, all the trouble starts. He hires a woman (Natasha Hudson) to play his pretend wife and things slowly get out of hand.

I shouldn’t complain so much, I am in the movie! Well, you should go check it out because Hans is brilliant in it. Also starring Christian Sugino, Titi Kamal and Natasha Hudson. Directed by Sharad Sharan.

Here are some pictures from the shoot:
